As Medicare’s 2030 value based care goal of 100% of individuals in a value based model gets closer to reality, we have an opportunity—and a responsibility—to ensure that dually eligible individuals in these models receive the care that they deserve. A good model already exists for integration via the State Medicaid Agency Contract that is required for certain Medicare Advantage plans. Ensuring that state Medicaid programs have a say in how these programs are administered creates the potential for much better integration across the programs.
